In answer to your comment - str...HI again Michael,

In answer to your comment - strangely different in tone from its immediate predecessor - yes, I do have to moderate comments, to prevent spam. I don't moderate in the sense of "only allowing the ones which I like", although, on reflection, I quite like the idea of doing that... no, only joking.

I am sorry that you feel that the article was abandoned half-way through: perhaps I should have stated in nice simple words at the end, the inevitable conclusion, ie "Nothing works: the only waterproof boots are plastic/rubber ones". Leather boots are inherently not waterproof. Which is odd, considering that animals are wrapped in leather, and they stand outdoors in the rain, all day long: they swim, and yet they don't get waterlogged.

For that matter, we humans, with our "finest leather" skins, can soak in water all day without getting "wet" inside, without drowning: so I wonder why "dead" leather is not waterproof?

Hmm, food for thought.

And hey, Michael - at least I write a bit more regularly than you do! *laughs* Only joking... honest!Rachel the Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17025126472323801610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1736928270390224037.post-17177797460541083592021-02-15T17:42:01.724+00:002021-02-15T17:42:01.724+00:00Question: Do you "moderate" your comment...Question: Do you "moderate" your comments? i.e. Decide for yourself which ones will be published and which ones won't?

Comment: I would suggest that you not give "articles" which you end up abandoning when half-way through.
Take this one (please), for example: I invested my time to find out if Dubbin or Vaseline works better as a boot waterproofing process....only to find toward the end of the discussion that instead of using EITHER, you spent $300 on a new pair of boots.
Not my preferred solution.Michael William Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15137171138200522713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1736928270390224037.post-11632448855791211822021-02-15T17:37:25.492+00:002021-02-15T17:37:25.492+00:00HI Michael, *waves enthusiastically*
